Borrowing Adapters

Policies for Borrowing Adapters

--Available for 2-hour loan.

-- For "in-library" use only.

--Checkout at 2nd Floor Circulation Desk.

--Availability on first come, first served basis.

--REMEMBER: to also check out a VGA or HDMI cable that is compatible with the adapter you want to borrow.

Types of Adapers for Apple Products:

  • 30-Pin Digital AV

  • Mini Display to VGA 
     
  • Mini Display to HDMI (not shown)

Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter (Apple)

Suggested Use:
Use the Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter to connect your Mac to a standard analog monitor, projector, or LCD that uses a VGA connector or cable.  Note: need to check out a VGA cable at the same time so you can connect the adapter to the study room monitors.

Compatibility: 
Compatible only with Mac computers with Mini DisplayPort.

Instructions:

30-Pin Digital HDMI Adapter (Apple)

Suggested Use:
Use the Apple Digital AV Adapter to mirror whatever’s on your iPad or iPhone 4S screen — apps, presentations, websites, movies, etc.— on the pico projectors or wall display panels in group study rooms.

Compatibilty: iPad, iPad2, iPhone 3s, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPod touch (4th gen).

Instructions:
Connect the Apple Digital AV Adapter to your device via the 30-pin dock connector and to your HDMI-compatible display using an HDMI cable (You can check out HDMI cables from 2nd floor desk).

   

  

30-Pin to VGA Adapter (Apple)

Suggested Use: 
Use the Apple 30-pin VGA Adapter to mirror whatever’s on your iPad or iPhone 4S screen — apps, presentations, websites, movies, etc.— on the pico projectors or wall display panels in group study rooms.

Compatibility:
iPad (1st gen, 2nd gen, 3rd gen), iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPod Touch 4th gen, iPad Dock.

Instructions:  

  1. Check out a VGA cable along with this adapter at 2nd floor desk. 
  2. Connect 30-pin end into your device
  3. connect VGA cable to VGA slot on adapter
  4. connect other end of VGA cable to VGA plug on wall under the 41" monitor.
