Public Relations and Marketing Committee

Marketing Resources for Your Event

The following resources are available to help you market your event within the UF community.

Discretionary Funds - Designed to encourage activities that will establish a clear and positive image of the libraries and increase awareness of the scope and value of the libraries' services in the university community.  For guidelines and application click on "Apply for Discretionary Fund" tab.

Library Event Calendar - Highlight library events and exhibits in this calendar for all to see.  For instructions contact Barbara Hood.

Barbara ensures that we follow university guidelines to present a consistent and high quality image for the libraries in the publications we distribute. She provides design, photography and production services for publications before they are printed by Facilities staff. She also works with the UF News Bureau and appropriate local, statewide and national media outlets to dissiminate library news.

Table Top Display 1

This three-dimensional, light-weight table top display can be used for tabling events.

Dimensions: 3"w x 63.25"h x 12.75"d

A rolling suitcase accompanies the display for transporting giveaways, brochures, etc.

Dimensions:

Large bottom panels: 24 x 36 inches

Top header panels: 24 x 12 inchels

The display board can be assembled with just two bottom panels or all four. The header panels are also optional.

One side of the board is Royal Blue the other side is Navy Blue.

Items can be customized and attached with Velcro.

Retractable Signs

Two 33" x 79" retractable signs are available to display in libraries or can be used with the table top display above.

    

Printed Pencils, Magnets, Post-its and table coverings

Printed Pencils, Magnets, Post-its and table coverings are available as give aways to small groups and classes or for tabling events.

Where to Market Your Event

  • Contact Barbara Hood for submission to the media, library news & events blog and calendar, monthly events all-staff email, etc.
  • Departmental or Graduate Student Listservs: contact the Subject Specialist
  • Posters, flyers, brochure, bookmarks, etc. can be printed for distribution at each of the libraries. Contact Barbara Hood for design and printing.
  • Facebook, Twitter: contact individual accounts.

The Director of Communications, Barbara Hood, is the official media contact person for the George A. Smathers Libraries. Send her information and she will distribute news releases to the university, local, and/or national and social media, as appropriate.
