Finding technical definitions

OED (Oxford English Dictionary) considers itself the "definitive record of the English language." Entries include definitions, history, origin (etymology), and quotations from real use. Includes classic, current, specialized, and technical terms.

Springer Exemplar shows how a term or phrase is currently used in research articles and books published by Springer.

For dictionaries in specialized engineering or technical areas, check the other Subject Guides.

Also check some general dictionaries.  Keep in mind that phrases (mashups of several words) might not be included in dictionaries.
