Oral biology is that area of knowledge that deals with the structure, development, and function of the oral tissues; their interrelationships; and their relation to other organ systems in both health and disease.

The journal is particularly interested in research which advances knowledge in the mechanisms of craniofacial development and disease, including: cell and molecular biology, molecular genetics, immunology, pathogenesis, cellular microbiology, embryology, syndromology, and forensic dentistry.
