Alice L. Primack has started the Library Instruction Fund with an endowment to help support this vital service in the UF Libraries. Alice came to UF as a Reference Librarian in the Engineering and Physics Library in 1972. In 1987, when the departmental libraries were combined to create the Marston Science Library, Alice became the Coordinator of Library Instruction. Retired in 2005, her career focused on user-centered service. She had a deep commitment to reaching out to students and faculty, educating them about library resources, search techniques and research strategies.
Her legacy continues in the George A. Smathers Libraries. Alice reached thousands of students through her work with the freshman writing program, orientation sessions and library publicity.
