This resource was designed to help you critically evaluate information from a variety of sources, but focuses on scholarly artifacts including peer-reviewed journals, guidelines, and books.

Introduction

Important elements to an intial evaluation include determining the type of publication, author, currency, edition or revision, and source. Each of these elements is described in more detail on the subpages and each criterion has a subpage. In addition to detailed description, each subpage includes resources for locating information on the criterion in mention.
