INTRODUCTION

Hi everyone!  Thanks for visiting my LibGuide.  I have a PhD in biomedical science and a deep rooted passion for the field.  The combination of graduate research and postdoctoral training has allowed me accrue 7 years of biomedical laboratory research experience that led to two peer-reviewed articles, award winning poster presentations, and a school of graduate studies research grant.  In addition to developing my laboratory skill set that ranges from high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to Western blotting I also grew accustomed to using online biomedical databases to supplement my work.  Throughout my graduate and postdoctoral training I also enjoyed helping others and more importantly analyzing data.  I believe that obtaining data without thoughtful analysis is a waste of time.  Thus, my job as a bioinformationist places me in perfect position to use my background to help others accomplish their biomedical research endeavors.  I am available to

  • Consult you on the use of online biomedical databases including NCBI, EBI, UCSC Genome Browser, BioGPS Gene Portal, Jackson Laboratory Mouse Phenome Database
  • Help you with your bibliographic needs
  • Help you develop of laboratory protocol
  • Assist you (limited capability) with data analysis (NGS, RNAseq, ChIPseq) - I am constantly developing my skills in this area and have recently completed online training in using the Galaxy platform through Coursera.  I am also picking up R and the Bioconductor package as well as Unix command line.

Feel free to give me a call (352-273-8443 or 561-313-0956) or send me an e-mail (zhuoxi.wu@ufl.edu) and I will be happy to chat with you or meet you in person.
