This guide will help students researching topics related to Latin America using resources from the Latin American and Caribbean Collection at the University of Florida and from outside institutions.  

Staff is available for research assistance at the Latin American and Caribbean Collection service desk during operating hours and can be reached at (352) 273-2745 or lacref@uflib.ufl.edu.  The Latin American and Caribbean Collection is located on the 3rd floor of Smathers Library (Library East). 

Available resources include but are not limited to monographs, reference materials, scholarly journals, historic newspapers, government documents, statistical resources and datasets, and films.

The Handbook is a bibliography on Latin America consisting of works selected and annotated by scholars. Edited by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress, the multidisciplinary Handbook alternates annually between the social sciences and the humanities. Each year, more than 130 academics from around the world choose over 5,000 works for inclusion in the Handbook. Continuously published since 1936, the Handbook offers Latin Americanists an essential guide to available resources.

Oxford Bibliographies in Latin American Studies are annotated peer-reviewed bibliographies across many regional, temporal, and topical subject areas related to Latin America. They're a great resource for finding a research topic and finding recommended resources.
