  • Allows video recording and screenshots

TechSmith SnagIt - $50 - (Educational Discount Available)

  • Provides a simple way to take screenshots
  • Lots of options for capturing specific windows, scrolling web pages, drop down menus, and much more
  • Short learning curve
  • Many editing options including cropping, video integration, drawing tools, callouts, and much more

    • Do you need to travel?
    • May be more cost effective to get better equipment in desktop format

Look at software specifications

    • What processor is recommended?
    • How much RAM (memory) is recommended?
    • How much hard drive space do you need to install the program?
    • How much hard drive space will you need to store files?
      • What is the average file size for the length of video that you will create?

Microphone

    • Do you feel more compfortable with a headset or a freestanding microphone?
    • Do not generally need to invest in a studio microphone to get decent quality these days
