The DANCE archive in the Special and Area Studies Collections was formed in the 1950s by UF librarian and respected dance historian, Sara Yancey Belknap, from her personal scrapbook and program collection. Since that time, the dance holdings have expanded to include the Denishawn papers from the winter workshop and rehearsal home (Eustis, Florida) of the Ruth St. Denis/ Ted Shawn modern dance troupe and thousands of programs, photographs and promotional items pertaining to ballet, folk and modern dance organizations and performers.
The collections are organized and easily accessible. Please contact the curator for more information and assistance. We are here to assist you and look forward to your visit to the Research Room.
