Marston study carrels are for UF graduate students, faculty, postdocs, and those writing dissertations in STEM fields only.
Students in other disciplines should refer to their corresponding libraries for study spaces.
Students must be currently registered for classes to be issued a carrel.
Students should apply for a carrel only once per semester. Multiple applications do not increase the likelihood of carrel assignment or speed up the process.
Carrel assignment may take two weeks or longer, especially at the beginning of the fall semester. Many carrel applications are submitted during this period, with only one library staff member to process them.
Students will be notified via email if they are assigned a carrel.
Carrel keys may be picked up at the main floor service desk during operating hours. A UF ID is required.
If an assigned key is not picked up within two weeks, the carrel will be reassigned to another patron.
Carrels are assigned randomly. Requests for specific carrels will not be honored. Once assigned, carrels may not be changed unless there is a maintenance or accessibility issue.
