This guide provides basic information about the services I provide, the subject areas and programs I work with as well as information about my education, background, and research interests.

What Can I Do For You?

As a Liaison Librarian, I can:

  • Meet with you in person, by phone or video, or via e-mail to discuss any of your research information needs or answer your questions about library resources and services.
  • Provide training to students, faculty, & staff on effective literature searches, citation management (with programs such as EndNote), scholarly publishing, tools to show research impact, and other research support services.
  • Teach sessions customized to your class or lab. Popular topics are: library orientations, library resources, how to find relevant literature (search strategies), evaluating resources, and citation management.
  • Present at department meetings, seminars, journal clubs, public events, or student organizations.
  • Contribute to rigorous literature searches for faculty & staff.
  • Accept your recommendations for expanding the Marston Science Library collection.
  • Collaborate with you on publications and grants.

About Angie

Education: 

Masters Degree in Biology - Miami University

Masters in Library Science - University of North Texas

B.A. in English & History - University of Memphis

 

Background & Interests

Angie Price is the Biological & Life Sciences Librarian at the Marston Science Library for the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. She received her MLS from the University of North Texas and her master’s degree in biology from Miami University. Before transitioning to academic libraries, Angie worked for the Memphis Public Libraries system in Tennessee for nearly 7 years, ranging in roles from children’s services library assistant to adult services librarian to cataloging manager for the system. In addition to working in libraries, Angie worked previously in zoos and aquaria, took part in biological fieldwork projects, and worked extensively in proposal writing and proposal management. Her current research interests include sustainability, conservation, science-based programming, citizen science, and the intersection of libraries, science, and communities.
