Acquisitions Plans for FY 2015-16
E-Book UDA plans:

Since YBP is the primary domestic vendor, this DDA has been developed from a library wide profile to fit the needs of the library community.
State consortium (Big FL) ---
Not yet determined
Evidence-Based Acquisitions (EBA) e-book plans (also known as ‘Evidence-Based Selection’ or ‘Usage-Driven Acquisitions’):
Cambridge University Press ---
This EBA plan is the “Little FL” plan, as UF is working with FSU on a shared plan for e-books offered by CUP. The pilot has run for a year + and titles/usage have been compiled from both library user groups; each library will be allowed to select the titles they deem most appropriate for purchase.
Elsevier STEM ---
Elsevier’s EBA with e-book titles are targeted in the STEM and Medicine subject areas. MARC records are loaded into the library catalog and after a year a report of e-book titles/usage are provided; the library is allowed to purchase selected titles at list price from a deposit account. The deposit is usually 15-35% of the full price of the selected package.
T&F/CRC STEM ---
Taylor & Francis with CRC Press is offering a new EBA with e-book titles made available in the STEM and Medicine subject areas. MARC records are loaded into the library catalog and after a year a report of e-book titles/usage are provided; the library is allowed to purchase selected titles at list price from a deposit account.
Other UDA plans:
Kanopy (Streaming Video) ---
Kanopy Streaming Video offers thousands of videos on a variety of subjects. PDA now includes all of Kanopy’s videos. MARC records will be loaded into the catalog and purchases are triggered on the fourth use of a title (30 seconds of viewing constitutes a use). Purchases are actually 1-year licenses at $150 a title. If the PDA is continued, the license would be renewed only if the video was used another 4 times in the second year (another $150). Assessment will be performed at various periods during the pilot to gauge usage and cost-benefits of the pilot.
Print Book UDA plans:
Harrassowitz Music Scores and Monographs PDA ---
This music PDA include music scores and a small number of print monographs. Harrassowitz will supply MARC records that will be loaded into the catalog with purchases driven by patron requests.
Print & E-Book UDA plans:
Books on Demand (BoD) - also known as ‘Purchase-on-Demand’ ---
Going strong at 7 years, this print-centric patron-driven acquisitions (PDA) program is turning ILL requests into purchases filtered by set parameters that acquire appropriate materials for users across all subject disciplines.
Course Reserves (CR) ---
This PDA plan has been in operation for 5 years and responds directly to faculty and instructors’ requests for CR materials by mediated purchase from the staff in ILL/Acquisitions. As with BoD, this program supports users and instruction across all subjects especially disciplines in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
Journal article UDA plans (also known as ‘Pay-Per-View’ - PPV):
Multi-Science (started in July 1, 2012) ---
