Services for Distance Learners and UF Online: Library Resources

Borrowing Materials

Distance learners may borrow regular loan print materials available at the main UF campus and materials not owned by the UF Libraries by using the online ILLiad form.  Requests are mailed or emailed to off-campus locations and arrive within one day to several weeks, depending on whether UF owns the item or whether it needs to be requested from another university. Faculty, staff and students may also use resources of other state college and university libraries in Florida. The Gator 1 Card acts as the ID card.

Connecting to E-Resources from Off Campus

Most of the online Library Resources are limited to current UF students, faculty and staff only.

To use any of our library resources off campus, click on the off campus access link. We recommend downloading the VPN to ensure the most stable connection.

Course Reserves

Some instructors assign readings and place those materials on course reserve. Distance learners can use the electronic materials but hard copy items cannot be mailed. Students should place an interlibrary loan request for course reserves; some items can be borrowed from other consortial libraries.
