Distance Learners and UF Online

Borrowing Materials

For information on services for distance learners please visit the delivery for distance users webpage. To opt in to distance services, you’ll need to fill our UF Library Distance User Delivery Services application form.

Distance learners may borrow regular loan print materials available at the main UF campus and materials not owned by the UF Libraries. Requests are mailed or emailed to off-campus locations and arrive within one day to several weeks, depending on whether UF owns the item or whether it needs to be requested from another university.

Course Reserves

Some instructors assign readings and place those materials on course reserves. Distance learners can use the electronic materials, but hard copy items cannot be mailed. Students can place an interlibrary loan request for course reserves; some items can be borrowed from other consortial libraries.
