E-books

You may find links to individual e-books through the Library Catalog. Here are some e-book services that specialize in areas of engineering. Newly-added books will appear in these services before they show up in the Library Catalog.

IEEE-Wiley eBooks content areas focus on electrical engineering and include Bioengineering, Power & Energy and Communication technologies, and other growing areas of research. More than 400 books, from 1974-present.

ENGnetBASE has over 1670 cutting-edge and bestselling e-books from CRC Press in civil, electrical, general, industrial, mechanical, and mining engineering. HINT: Check the box in the header for "Full Content Access Only" to filter the UF-subscribed e-books.

Knovel provides access to over 700 handbooks, databases, encyclopedias, reference books, and standards from the world's leading publishers and professional societies in engineering, biotechnology, life sciences, chemistry and materials. Knovel's productivity tools, (including interactive tables, graphs and live equations) allow users to work within Knovel to analyze the data they find.

Springer publishes series such as the Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Control & Information Science, Electrical Engineering, Energy, Nanoscale Science & Technology, and more.

Synthesis Lectures Brief 50- to 100-page e-books that synthesize an important research or development topic in engineering or computer science. Series include Biomedical Engineering, Data management, Energy and the Environment, Mobile and Pervasive Computing, Synthetic Biology, and many more. Published by Morgan & Claypool. UF has Collections 1-6.

Off-campus access

When using a campus computer or UF Wireless, you're connected to the UF network.  But for off-campus access to library-licensed e-Journals, research databases and e-resources, use either:

UF VPN - or - the library proxy server (on the remote logon page)

When you see Find@UF in your search results, click for access to digital full-text material.
