Welcome to the Health Science Center Libraries Wilderness Walk and photography activities.

We welcome you to submit images of nature taken locally. Stay tuned for ongoing actives!

Past events:

December 16, 2021 Campus Nature Walk with the HSCL! This Finals Week, take a break to walk around campus and Gainesville. If you take any nature photographs, send them to the HSCL via for a chance to be featured on our social media or the large screens around the library.*

*Sending nature photographs to the HSCL gives the library permission to post these images to social media and/or the large screens around the library. Unless anonymity is specifically requested, photographs posted will also feature the submitter's name, but only their name.  Due to privacy matters, we cannot submit images with identifiable people in them.

Materials on Natural Areas in the Gainesville Region

Attached is a guide to parks and natural areas on the UF campus and in the larger Gainesville area.  Enjoy!  And watch out for fire ants, don't handle snakes, and watch your step!
