HIS3942: Labor in the Gilded Age and Progressive Era

A Guide for Students in Dr. Steven Noll's History Practicum

  Getting started with library resources

  1. Download and Install the UF VPN Software. The Gatorlink VPN will give you secure remote access to the UF network and provide full access to library's electronic resources.

  2. Search the Library Catalog for resources. If you want your search results to include database content, such as articles and reviews, use the "Primo Search" option.

  3. Use Course Reserves to access books, videos, and other assigned materials for your classes.

  4. Watch the UF Libraries Tutorial videos. The UF Libraries Information Literacy Committee has created four short videos that provide instruction on exploring the Libraries website, connecting to the VPN, searching the catalog and Primo, and contacting a subject specialist.

  5. Set up your Interlibrary Loan account. Use ILLiad to request materials that are not available at the UF Libraries.

  6. Still need help? Contact me for additional research assistance.

Use the assignment calculator to create a schedule for your research.
