You can use other citation management tools to important citations into Covidence but they must be in RIS, EndNote XML, and PubMed format. Contact Lauren Adkins with any questions.
Covidence automatically removes some duplicates, but it might not catch all of them automatically. You can manually mark duplicates as well. The number of duplicate articles removed by Covidence is listed at the top of the review home page next to Import References.
To see a full list of automatically and manually removed duplicates and verify their accuracy, click on the "# total duplicates removed" link. If multiple duplicates of the same citation are found, one citation will be marked as the "Primary reference". You can correct incorrectly-labeled duplicates.

Covidence comes pre-populated with two tags: Ongoing Study, and Awaiting Classification. To use tags, simply check the box to the left-hand side of those citations you wish to tag. You can add a new tag to this list by typing your term in the "Tag with:" field and clicking "create new". Once created and applied to references, you can also filter by these tags. This can be especially useful to get a quick count of how many citations have a particular tagged characteristic, such as study type.
