Images and Visual Research: Home

Welcome!

This guide will help you develop a deeper understanding of visual literacy and guide you through the process of locating and citing images. While this guide is heavily focused on photographs and digital images, visual literacy encompasses all images whether it's an image you snapped on your phone and uploaded to Instagram, a sketch in a field notebook, a graph, a logo or advertisement, graffiti, an architectural drawing, a stamp, a commemorative plate, or a painting by Leonardo da Vinci.
