2019:       Fellow, Medical Library Association

The second highest award available to members, MLA Fellows are elected by the Board of Directors for sustained and outstanding contributions to health sciences librarianship and to the advancement of the purposes of MLA. Fellows may use "FMLA" following their names. 

2018:       College International Educator of the Year (Senior Faculty), UF International Center

This award recognizes outstanding contributions to the internationalization of the University of Florida.

2015:        Excellence in Outreach Award, UF Smathers Libraries

Awarded for the Sex and Gender Differences/Women's Health Outreach Project (with M Ansell, ME Edwards, HF Norton, and N Schaefer)

2015-20:   Distinguished Member Status, Academy of Health Information Professionals  

AHIP is the credentialing body for health sciences librarians.                    

2014:         Lucretia W. McClure Excellence in Education Award, Medical Library Association

This awards, established in 1998, honors outstanding practicing librarians or library educators in the field of health sciences librarianship and informatics who demonstrate skills in one or more of the following areas: teaching, curriculum development, mentoring, research, or leadership in education at local, regional, or national levels.

2012-13:    Leadership Fellow (competitive program), National Library of Medicine/Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries

2010-15:    Distinguished Member Status, AHIP

2005-10:    Distinguished Member Status, AHIP

2005:         Distinguished Member Award, Special Libraries Association, Biomedical and Life Sciences Division

 This award is presented "in recognition of exceptional service to the Division and to the profession".                           

2005:         Estelle Brodman Academic Medical Librarian on the Year, Medical Library Association

The Brodman Award recognizes one "academic medical librarian at mid-career who demonstrates significant achievement, the potential for leadership, and continuing excellence."

2003:         Top 20 Library Instructional Paper of the Year, American Library Assoc, LIRT   

Awarded for the publication "The role of medical libraries in undergraduate education: a case study in genetics" (J Med Libr Assoc, 90(2):180-193). The only health science librarianship paper thus honored in 2003.           

2003:         Attendee (competitive prog.), Bio21: Teaching Biology with Bioinformatics, UNC Chapel Hill
