Responsible Conduct of STEM Research

Good research is ethical research! Get a Prenuptial Agreement  for Scientists before you begin your research.

Follow general practices of responsible conduct of research (RCR) for:

• postdocs
• graduate students
• undergraduate students

Topics that fall under RCR:

• Develop professional relationships with mentors/advisors. 
• Follow the practices and cultures of collaborative research in your discipline, department, and lab. 
• Respect the peer review process and its responsibilities. 
•  Follow responsible publication practices.
• Avoid the research misconduct deeds: falsification, fabrication, plagiarism.
• Follow Guidelines for Best Practices in Image Processing.
