Getting Started using library resources

  1. Set up the UF VPN: Needed when you're off campus or using your own computer to access the library electronic resources.
  2. Search the library catalog for books or journal titles.
  3. Search databases to find articles in journals: If you are trying to decide which database is appropriate for your research, look at the list of databases listed on the Research Databases/Journal Articles tab above.
  4. Create an Interlibrary Loan account. This will allow you to place requests for books and journal articles.
  5. Check your account status or renew UF library materials online.
  6. Check your Course Reserves account. You can look up books and articles placed on reserve by your professors.

Off-Campus Access

For off-campus access to library-licensed e-Journals, research databases and e-resources, use either:

UF VPN (preferred) - or - the remote logon page

When you see Find@UF in your database search results, click it for access to digital full-text material.

Use our Interlibrary Loan service to request materials to be mailed, or emailed, to your off-campus location.
