Are you interested in creating zines and comics about health and health care? While our library occasionally hosts events on campus, we highly recommend exploring these organizations and their resources to get started!
The Sequential Artists Workshop (SAW) is a local, grassroots comics school and creative community. They conduct workshops and classes online and in person in Gainesville, FL. In addition, they host different professional cartoonists virtually every Friday evening to lead the community through a drawing or storytelling exercise.
To respond to the cancellation of our 2020 Graphic Medicine conference in Toronto, to combat the social isolation of pandemic-related lockdowns, and to support and promote community, the Graphic Medicine International Collective (GMIC) launched a free virtual meet-up called “Drawing Together.” The recordings are available on YouTube.
