AIDS Research Alliance Started in 1989, its mission is to "develop a cure for HIV/AIDS, medical strategies to prevent new infections, and better treatments for people living with HIV." It conducts independent clinical research targeting HIV reservoirs, creating anti-HIV technologies,  developing treatments, vaccines, and conducting research on microbicides and other biomedical prevention methods.
