Welcome!
This is a guide to the nursing resources available through the University of Florida Libraries. Tabs above provide links to resources to assist with your information needs. Please contact the library or your liaison librarian if you need extra help in your search or have suggestions for other resouces or information to be added.
Access Info
Access to electronic resources should be seamless from any UF networked computer. Note that some computers in Shands may require remote access.
Eligibility for access: UF students/faculty/staff members with current, valid UF ID/Gator1 Card
Remote access for all electronic resources: VPN software or EZProxy.
Some databases, journals and resources are free for anyone to access and some are only accessible to UF affiliates through the libraries' subscription. To access subscription resources while off campus, you must be logged in to the VPN or the proxy service.
If you can't access full-text from PubMed, do not assume that we don't have it.
If UF does not have the article you need in either print or electronic form, request a free copy via Interlibrary Loan. Articles ordered through ILL are usually available within 3 days and delivered electronically. Books and other items can also be obtained via ILL though they are slower to obtain.
If you would like the library to copy a UF-owned article for you, the cost is $5 per item.
Articles requested as "Rush" (needed for clinical emergencies) can be delivered in 4 hrs or less.
Do NOT pay to order articles without consulting with one of your liaison librarians!
