Hilliard-Nunn Black Film & Film Literature Collection

Black Films Matter 

A community group in North Central Florida (Gainesville and Jacksonville metro areas) that gathers to celebrate Black film and the experience of watching Black films in the community by hosting watching parties, watch & discuss screenings, drive-ins, themed events, and more. 

 

Norman Studios

A 501(c)3 organization established to preserve Jacksonville, Florida's silent film legacy. It is situated on the Norman Studios lot, now an historic site, which directed and produced films during the silent era, including "race films" starring all-Black casts. What the Flying Ace online, made in 1926, based on the life of Bessie Coleman.
