• A Guide to the Jose Francisco Barreto y Cardenas petition to King Ferdinand VII (English Finding Aid) (PDF, Spanish Finding Aid) In this letter, Spanish nobleman Jose Francisco Barreto (a Creole or Cuban born Spanish noble) described his opposition to the British occupation of Cuba in the mid-1700s.
