CAS SciFindern

SciFindern, created by the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), is the most comprehensive database for chemical literature. It is commonly used by researchers in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, and related disciplines. 

In this databases, you can search for literature using reference information (topic, author, keyword, etc.) and chemical information (structure drawing, molecular formula, and other chemical identifiers). You can also search for chemical compounds by spectral and property data.

More information on registering your account:

 

  • You must use your Gatorlink email address (@ufl.edu). Departmental email address (such as @chem.ufl.edu) might be accepted, but if you have trouble, try using your Gatorlink address instead. 
  • You will quickly receive a confirmation email to your Gatorlink email address. The message may go into your spam or junk mail, so please check carefully.
  • Complete the registration process by clicking the emailed link within 48 hours.

Use account you registered to log into the database. If you are accessing this database from off campus, make sure you are connected to the VPN or use the proxy server link below.
