An important part of tracking your research impact is claiming your digital research identity in various databases and linking that identity to your research and publications. This allows you to:
When you create and claim your author profiles across the web, you are taking control of your identity as a researcher and representing your productivity and impact in different, overlapping ways.
Register an account at https://orcid.org/
Connect your Works tab to a database if possible, so it autofills your publications.
Can also link your Scopus author ID to ORCiD
Search using the "Author" search tab
Edit information as needed (edits could take 4 weeks for Scopus to process)
Add your ORCID number to link your ORCID to Scopus citations
Analyze author output among publications indexed in Scopus (Elsevier)
Navigate to https://scholar.google.com/ and sign in
Register and verify your account
Automatically add publications indexed in Google Scholar
And now your friends and family (and you!) can get notifications when your publications become available
In https://www.webofscience.com/, register an account
Analyze author output among publications indexed in Web of Science (Clarivate)
Includes geographic citation map
Not all presentations for professional organizations will be included
Book chapters poorly represented
Web of Science and Scopus only include your citations that are indexed in those databases (not exhaustive)
