UF grants access to myriad databases, books, and other resources. To access these when not on campus, you'll need to be connected to the UF VPN (Virtual Private Network).
Watch a video guide on downloading and using the UF VPN
To download the VPN, follow the directions from UF IT according to your device.
After installing the VPN on your computer, you must log in to it before attempting to access library resources.
The task of finding sources can be daunting, so here are some solid steps to get started on your research!
If you are off campus, you will need to use one of two methods to access library resources. I recommend the VPN for most users, learn more in the remote access box below or visit our Off Campus Access page.
You can use Primo to find books, journals, and other library resources. Primo Searches the UF Catalog and the Florida Statewide Catalog, so take note of which library your resource is in!
You can search the UF Library Catalog directly here
If you find a book in a Non-UF, Florida library, you can request it for free via UBorrow.
For any other materials we don't have, you may use our Inter-Library Loan service (also free!)
Look through the recommended databases for Linguistics in our Databases tab above. You can also search through the rest of our databases in our A-Z Dabases listing.
You can also look through other UF Library Research Guides; your research should always interest you, and there are many resources which are multi-disciplinary!
Finally, we have a number of Librarians and subject specialists who are here to help. Below are some Librarians who can help with linguistics research:
Hélène Huet - European Studies Librarian
Ginessa Mahar - Anthropology Librarian
