Comic Books & Graphic Novels: Resources for Librarians

The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF) is a non-profit organization set up specifically to defend comics as an art form from unfair censorship. To that end, they have made available numerous resources librarians and educators may find useful, including historical information about censorship against comics, a list of the most challenged comics (useful for Banned Books Week and other events), a history of the legal cases the CBLDF has been involved in, and downloadable comic strips illustrating important points about comics censorship.
