Gap Email Notifications - JRNL - Journal Retention and Needs Listing

Automated Email Notifications

When your institution is initially configured in JRNL, an email address is required. This email address will be used for sending you information about gaps. See "Account Set Up" for more information on setting up your institutions email address.

When an offer is submitted, a gap transaction is opened and an automated email is sent to the institution that has the gap (receiving institution) to facilitate communication between them and the institution filling the gap (offering institution).
The receiving institution must then email the offering institution to indicate they accept the offer and negotiate the shipping process.
Offers made on gap records in JRNL must be completed (Checked In) by the receiving institution within 60 calendar days of the offering institution's submission. (See Manage my Gaps)
An automated reminder email is sent at 30 days and again at 53 days post offer date.
If the transaction has not been completed in JRNL within 60 calendar days, the gap offer will automatically be canceled and the gap relisted.

Offers made on gap records in JRNL must be completed (Checked In) by the posting institution within 60 calendar days of the offering institution's submission:

Prior to 12/30/2020, email the offering institution to indicate that you accept or decline the offer and negotiate the shipping process. Please also indicate whether a deed of gift from the offering institution is required.
Prior to 02/14/2021, update your gap record in JRNL by performing a "Check In" action on the Manage My Gaps page to complete the transaction.

If the transaction has not been completed in JRNL by 02/14/2021, the gap offer will automatically be canceled and the gap relisted.

If you are not currently accepting gap offers, please remove your gap statements from JRNL.
