Kidenga (mobile tracking app)A community-based participatory science app developed by researchers at the Universtiy of Arizona Zuckerman College of Public Health to detect disease outbreaks by tracking mosquito activity and symptoms reported by users. The app currently (8/03/17) tracks Zika, dengue, and chikungunya – viruses that are transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes. All three viruses have similar symptoms, including sudden onset of fever, joint pain, muscle pain, headache, nausea, fatigue, and rash.
