The majority of our electronic resources are restricted for use only by current UF students, faculty, and staff. If you are on campus, the library recognizes your IP address. If you are off campus, you will need to log on using the UF proxy server or Virtual Private Network (VPN).
First, check your off campus connection. We have access to a large number of electronic journal articles, but many older volumes (from the 1990s and earlier) are still only available in print format. Other journals may be available through aggregator platforms rather than the journal's website directly. Try searching the library catalog for the journal title (not the specific article title) to see if we have print volumes or electronic access.
If we don't have access, you can request a copy through inter-library loan (ILL), a system where academic libraries share our resources. They will send you an electronic copy of the journal article you need.
If you cant locate the book you need in the library catalog, you can request a copy through inter-library loan (ILL). For individual book chapters, you will receive an electronic copy. If you need an entire book, we will arrange for another library to ship their copy to UF so that you can check it out here. You can also reach out to me directly by email to request new purchases for the library collection.
Marston Science Library does not have copy machines, but we do have scanners located in the first and second (main) floor computer bays as well as book scanners on the second (main) floor. You can scan any book or journal in the library and save your scan as a PDF. Marston has printers located on the second (main) and first floors.
