Physician Rachel Naomi Remen began practice as a pediatrician, training in a period where she felt medicine did not recognize or support humanity of doctors. She later embraced integrative practices and wholistic care for cancer patients, and developed coursework for medical students that supported their resilience and overall mental health. A compelling story teller and author of a number of books that tell beautiful and humane stores, she encourages writing and journaling and development of particular approaches to journaling.
She encourages keeping a journal that focuses on the positive and creates structure by encouraging daily written response to three questions:
What surprised you today?
What moved you today?
What inspired you today?
