The Latin American and Caribbean Collection actively collects film and other media from and about Latin America and the Caribbean. The majority of the LACC physical film collection is in our media room located near our circulation desk. Many Latin American films are also available in Library West and other UF Library locations. Most DVDs and videos can be checked out for one week.
Recent acquisitions have focused on streaming movies available through digital academic databases available to UF patrons. Access requires connecting to the UF network on campus or using the UF Gatorlink VPN off-campus. Physical and streaming videos are one resource type that instructors can request through Course Reserves.
This journal is dedicated to the study of Spanish-speaking and Latin American cinemas. Coverage includes the cinemas of Spain and Spanish-speaking South, Central and North America, including the Caribbean, and Brazil.

The Journal of Latin American Cultural Studies publishes articles on Latin American culture and on theoretical and historical approaches to cultural production in Latin America, including Caribbean, Latino/a and other diasporic, trans-regional formations. Multidisciplinary work defining and proposing new areas of research and debate is especially welcome. We encourage contributions on the full range of cultural objects, practices, and expressions (including literature, film, visual arts, music), as well as the informal structures of meaning and communication at societal and sub-cultural levels.
The journal can be accessed here.
