The Latin American and Caribbean Collection actively collects documentaries, feature films, and other media from and about Latin America and the Caribbean. The majority of the LACC physical film collection is in our media room located near the circulation desk. Many Latin American films are also available in Library West and other UF Library locations. Most DVDs and videos can be checked out for one week.
Recent acquisitions have focused on streaming movies available through digital academic databases available to UF patrons. Access requires connecting to the UF network on campus or using the UF Gatorlink VPN off-campus. Physical and streaming videos are one resource type that instructors can request through Course Reserves.
To find DVDs and videos from a particular geographic region (country, city, etc.) click the green plus sign (+) next to "Subject: Geographic Area" in the left hand column next to your DVD and video search results.
A list of countries, regions, and cities will appear. Browse through the list and check the boxes for the places of interest. Click "apply to search." You will then see only search results from the countries you selected.
The UF Libraries online catalog, Primo VE, allow searching for videos through the Advanced Search option. Select "Videos" from the drop-down list, with optional parameters for language and date of publication.
