An organization supported by The Suder Foundation that seeks to provide resources and support to impact the graduation rates of First-Gen college students. This online platform's efforts are to increase the graduation rate of First-Gen college students who also have a low income (FGLI). What began as a passion project by an FGLI graduate involving a handful of students has grown into an online collection of over 1,200 curated resources that provide support through a scholarship search tool; a college success roadmap; webinars; and mentoring.
An online community of First-Gen college students created by the UStrive virtual mentoring resource that shares inspiring video stories and blogs of the First-Gen student experience. Also available is a tool to explore colleges that offer programs and other means of support directed to first-gen students as well as free mentoring to answer your questions.
A support organization for First-Gen college students of low income with a focus on increased graduation rates, leadership skills, and intensive professional development to make their participants 'job ready'. This can be accomplished by applying for the Fellows Program which is a two-year course of monthly workshops with an attention to non-academic skills needed in the job market. There is also a FirstGenU Career Institute which offers 10 1-hour duration, self-paced learning modules across two pathways of job search and leadership skills.
