Finding Books and eBooks in Primo (Library Catalog)

Primo

Starting July 13, the best way to search for books and eBooks will be to use our new Primo search tool. This tool searches across many of our resources including our complete library catalog. Click the red circles to learn more about the search features.

Books and eBooks not at UF?

undefined

For books not at UF you can either borrow them through UBorrow or the Interlibrary Loan Service (ILLIAD).

UBorrow lets you request print books (not eBooks sadly) directly from participating Florida state university libraries when the item is not available at UF.

ILLIAD is a service that can provide you (a UF library patron) with materials that are not available from the UF Libraries – either copies (of articles and book chapters), or loans (books, microfilm, media, etc.).

Your Gator1 card allows you to check out library materials and you can use your online account to manage your loans. Find out more about your borrowing privileges.

Finding Non-English Language Materials

Research Databases: The following databases offer language restrictions:

  • All EBSCOhost databases (identified by the blue, circular EBSCOhost logo) offer the ability to change the language of the search screen.  Click on the Languages link at the top of the screen and choose the language you prefer.

  • All EBSCOhost databases also offer a language option on the Advanced Search screen which allows you to search for materials in a language other than English.  Be sure to scroll down on the search screen to locate the Language menu.  This option will search materials available exclusively in the language you prefer and display English-language materials that have been translated to your preferred language.
