Getting Started

Your Gator1 account allows you to check out library materials and you can use your online account to manage your loans. Find out more about your borrowing privileges.

Set up the UF VPN: When you're off-campus, you will need to use the UF VPN software to access electronic databases, journals and books.

Check your Course Reserves account. You can look up books and articles placed on reserve by your professors.

Visit Project Starter Databases to start your research project. Remember, subject area/specialists are here to help!

George A. Smathers Libraries offer free workshops and instruction sessions for students.

Workshops on citation management tools, avoiding plagiarism, and many other topics are available.

Study Areas in the Libraries

The Libraries offer a variety of Study and Testing Spaces across campus.

The Graduate Study Floor is located on the 6th floor or Library West and is reserved for grad students for quiet individual and group study. Just scan your Gator1 card in the elevators to gain access.

Small lockers are available each semester on this floor; just inquire at the second floor circulation desk.
