Background:
I am an information professional committed to ensuring free access to scientific knowledge for the public good. My areas of specialization as a science librarian are strengthened and informed by my professional background in cooperative extension and scholarly publishing. I provide expertise in agricultural research support, open access publishing, research metrics, and digitization of historic print materials. My research interests are information literacy skills development, open access publishing, and the preservation of historic agricultural information.
Part of my Digital Scholarship is to make historic agricultural materials freely available through the University of Florida Digital Collections, UFDC. These materials are a few of the many items in the Food & Agriculture collection. Also in this collection are historic UF/IFAS Cooperative Extension Service publications and UF/IFAS Agricultural Experiment Stations reports. Below is a selection of the items added to UFDC as a result of my work. Let me know if you have suggestions of other treasures to add!
These are a few of the many items in the Florida Historical Agriculture & Rural Life collection.
