Introduction

Remember that primary sources provide first-hand or contemporary documentation of the time period, culture, events, people, and places you are researching. Whether or not a source is a primary source sometimes depends on context.

The following video will show how to search for oral histories from the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program as well as search within the UF Libraries Digital Collections.

An example of unique primary sources that can be found within the UF Libraries are materials from the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program. The archives of the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program’s oral history collections feature over 6,500 interviews on a variety of media, including cassette tapes and digital holdings available through the UF Libraries Digital Collections (UFDC), which features close to 2,000 items, and over 150,000 pages of interview transcripts.
