The Owned versus Available Gap Report checks a library’s holdings against the holdings of other libraries in the database and displays items not held by the searching library.
For example, if SUC (University of South Carolina) runs the search, the result would display items held by contributing libraries but not held by SUC. If any of the items are within the University of South Carolina's COE scope, the report provides information on a source for obtaining a copy - or a surrogate, until which time a copy becomes available.
The owned versus available report differs from the owned versus universe report in that the report only displays items which are currently held at contributing libraries. The report does not display items which are known to exist but are currently not held by a library.
