The Owned versus Universe Gap report checks a library’s holdings against the known universe of records contributed to the ASERL COE database – including records for known items that are not currently held by any of the participating libraries. The report will display holdings records for items that are either held at, or known to exist by, participating libraries but are not held by the searching library. The report could serve as a “Needs List” for the COE when the agency filter is applied.
The owned versus universe report differs from the owned versus available report in that the report displays both items which are currently held at contributing libraries and items which are not currently held but are known to exist. The owned versus available report only displays items currently held by contributing libraries.
