Pharmacy Graduate Students: Pharmacy Journals

Library resources and assistance geared toward graduate students.

Page Description

This page contains a sample of the journals that you can access through the UF Libraries.  Check the online catalog or the eJournals List to see what years we can access.     There are many more available.  You can find them through the eJournal search or through the Online catalog.  There are also links to the full text in most of the databases.  Just look for in the results list.

Remember you need to be logged into the Proxy or the VPN to access the full text if you are off campus or not on the University's network.

Finding Full text - Hard copy or print.

  • If you find a journal article and the HSC Library  has it in print/hardcopy, then it will be housed on the 3rd floor of the library.  If you are looking at the center stairwell, the journals are on your left.  They are shelved alphabetically by journal title, starting over by the North Wall ( all the way to the left).  If the title officially starts with an acronym, like JAMA, then look for that as a word and if the journal's title begins with Journal of, then it will be in the J's.  If it changed title it will be under the title for that time period, for example DICP is shelved under that acronym and Annals of Pharmacotherapy is in the As.
  • If you find something that is in Flare or Storage, then you need to go through ILLiad and Interlibrary Loan.  These items are stored off site.
  • If it is at another UF library then check in the Catalog to find out what volumes UF owns and where it is located. If you are here in Gainesville and it is in another library here on campus, you will need to retrieve it yourself.  If you are at a remote site, then you can request it through ILLiad.  If something is in the Borland Library, our branch in Jacksonville, then you can request it through Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad)
  • If you see the blue button in PubMed  saying we have the journal  in the library , double check volume holdings  in the Library's catalog to make sure the volumes are here.  The information that displays when you click on this button may not reflect the items that have been moved into storage.
