There are a number of tasks that you are responsible for on a daily basis.
These include:
- Clocking In/Out in my.ufl.edu
- Reshelving items that have been returned to the library
- Sweeping all floors as needed; which includes picking up all materials from the tables and copy areas on a floor, scanning all items into Alma (Fulfillment - Scan in Items), and returning them to the shelves or to the reshelving carts on the 2nd floor.
- Shelving books, periodicals, and microforms.
- Blocking books on the 3rd and 4th floors (this means aligning all of the books straight with the edge of the shelf).
- Shelf reading on the 3rd and 4th floors (this means going through each shelf in order to ensure all of the books are in the correct call number order and fixing those that are not. Your goal is to shelf read sections as you shelve them daily. You should shelf read sections that are heavily used to ensure that these areas are kept in order. Please refer to the "Shelf Reading" page for further instructions.
- Bringing any items without barcodes to the Stack Management Supervisor to have a barcode added. (Please see the Projects section of this website for more information regarding this).
