Resources from Library Technology Services, for library employees

Laptop User Policy

Laptops are considered University property. We kindly request that they be returned in the condition they were originally received. Please note that laptops are loaned for a specific period and may be reassigned to other users afterward.

We respectfully ask that you refrain from applying stickers, drawings, labels, or personalization's that LTS did not provide. These additions can be difficult to remove and may damage the devices upon return. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

  • Provide a brief explanation of your need for a laptop.
  • What software will need top be installed on the laptop.
  • Expected duration of the loan.
  • The suggested date and time you need the laptop available for pick up.

Laptop Check Out Procedures

Location:
Loaner laptops are typically picked up at the LTS Suite in Library West, room 118, at the scheduled pick up time.

Sign In on Site:
You’ll need to log in to the laptop in the IT office for the first time. This step is essential, as it creates your profile on the laptop while it’s connected directly to our network.

Software Check:
We recommend you check WiFi access and confirm with LTS that you can successfully connect before leaving the IT office.
Verify that any specific software you requested is installed and working as expected, including VPN.

Return by the Due Date:
Please ensure that you return the loaner laptop by the agreed-upon due date.

Accessories:
Return any accessories provided with the laptop (e.g., charger, carrying case, etc.).

Report Issues:
If you encountered any issues or noticed any damage during your loan, please inform LTS when you return so they can address any maintenance needs.

Need More Time?
If you require the laptop longer than the original return date, please contact us as soon as possible to request an extension.
Extensions are granted based on availability.
