Benet House History

The Benét House is a reconstructed example of a Second Spanish Period (1784-1821) structure. Minorcan Esteban Beneto (Benét) purchased the home located on this site in 1804 and replaced the existing wooden structure with one built of coquina. Members of the Benét family occupied the home until 1915, when the home was demolished. The Benét House was reconstructed by the State of Florida in 1963.
